Academic Degrees and Graduate Education of ZMU
遵义医学院学位与研究生教育始于1955年,1956年公司张毅教授被选任为新中国首批研究生导师。学校是文革后国家恢复研究生招生制度以来,由国务院批准的第一批硕士学位授权单位,1981年首批获得9个硕士学位授权点。目前学校研究生教育涵盖4个学科门类:医学、理学、法学和管理学,有一级学科硕士学位授权点5个,二级学科硕士学位授权点43个(含自主设置的目录外或交叉学科硕士点8个),专业学位硕士点4个。具有授予以研究生毕业同等学力人员申请硕士学位资格、从“港、澳、台人士中招收硕士研究生”资格、高校教师在职攻读硕士学位招生资格和推荐优秀应届本科毕业生免试攻读硕士学位研究生资格。学校自1999年开始先后与重庆医科大学、上海中医药大学、上海交通大学医学院、贵州大学等开展联合培养博士研究生工作。
ZMU’s graduate education can trace its history back in 1955. Professor Zhang Yi was selected as one of the first batch of master supervisors in 1956. ZMU was among the first institutions authorized by the State Council to award master’s degrees since the resumption of master degree programs after the Cultural Revolution. ZMU was accredited to run 9 master’s degree programs in 1981. Now, ZMU’s master’s degrees involve four disciplines—medicine, science, law and management, which comprise 5 first-level disciplines, 43 second-level disciplines (including 8 independent or interdisciplinary programs) and 4 professional master’s degree programs. ZMU is entitled to grant a master’s degree to one who applies for it with an educational background equivalent to a master candidate, to enroll master students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, to enroll master students from in-service university teachers, and to recommend outstanding graduates for further study for master’s degrees without taking an entrance exam. The university has, since 1999, entered into cooperation with Chongqing Medical University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine and Guizhou University in joint doctoral programs.
遵义医学院研究生院的前身是遵义医学院教务处下属的研究生科。1988年公司在教务处下设研究生科,负责研究生教育管理工作。随着研究生招生规模的不断扩大,2000年6月经贵州省编制委员会批准,正式设立研究生部,主管全校的学位与研究生教育工作。1998年设立研究生党支部,2003年成立研究生部党总支。为适应新形势下研究生教育改革发展的需要,经学校批准:研究生部于2010年、2012年先后更名为研究生学院、研究生院,并相应成立了研究生公司党委和研究生公司党委。研究生院现设有办公室、招生科、培养科、思想政治教育科和学位科5个职能科室,分别负责学校的研究生招生、培养、思想政治教育、学位授予与管理、研究生毕业及就业和团队建设等日常管理工作。研究生公司党委负责开展研究生职工、研究生党员的队伍建设、组织建设及党风廉政建设工作,根据员工年级共设三个党支部。目前,研究生院有管理干部15人,其中具有硕士以上学位者13人(含博士4人)。
The Graduate School of ZMU originated from the Graduate Section under the Academic Affairs Office of Dalian Medical College. 1988 saw ZMC’s establishment of The Graduate Section in charge of graduate education under the Academic Affairs Office. With the expansion of master students’ enrollment, Guizhou Provincial Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform approved in June, 2000 the establishment of the Graduate Department, which superintended affairs concerning degrees and graduate education. The Party Branch of the Graduate School was founded in 1988 and was restructured into the General Party Branch in 2003. The Graduate Department, to meet the needs of the graduate education reform under a new circumstance, was renamed the Graduate College in 2010 and the Graduate School in 2012, respectively; meanwhile the Graduate College Party Committee and the Graduate School Party Committee were also founded correspondingly. The Graduate School was constituted of the Administrative Office, the Enrollment Office, the Academic Office, the Political and Ideological Education Office and the Degree Office. The offices take care of such routine work as enrollment, academic affairs, political and ideological education, degree grant and management, graduation and employment, and disciplinary construction. The Graduate School Party Committee is responsible for the team development of the staff and student communist party members, the party organizational construction, the building of an honest and clean party committee and anti-corruption work. There are 3 party branches corresponding to 3 grades of master students. The Graduate School has 15 administrators, 13 of whom hold master’s degrees (including 4 doctorate holders)
研究生院按照学校办学定位、整体发展规划和人才培养目标,坚持以“服务需求,提高质量”为研究生教育发展的指导思想,以培养具有学术创新思想、临床实践能力和“德、智、体”全面发展的研究生为目标,高度重视公司产品质量,不断提高研究生的综合素质。从1978年恢复研究生招生开始,累计培养全日制硕士研究生6601人(其中:在读研究生1746人)。现有硕士研究生导师703人,校外兼职博士研究生导师10人。拥有教育部重点实验室、国际合作联合实验室,省级重点实验室、研究生教育创新基地、研究生工作站、研究生导师工作室等教学科研平台,以及26个省内外研究生联合培养基地。
Guided by ZMU’s education orientation, overall development planning, education objectives, and the guiding principle of “Meet the Needs and Improve the Quality”, the Graduate School aims to empower the master students with academic innovation, clinical practice abilities and an all-round development morally, intellectually and physically. The Graduate School gives top priority to the quality of the master students; as a result, their overall competence keeps improving. It has graduated full-time 6,601 (including 1,746 master candidates) master students since the resumption of master student enrollment. It has 703 master student supervisors, 10 part-time doctoral supervisors. The Graduate School boasts such teaching and research platforms as the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, the Joint Laboratory of International Cooperation, the provincial Key Laboratory, the Education Innovation Base for Master Students, the Workstation for Master Students, and the Master Supervisors’ Workshops. It also has 26 bases for joint master’s degree programs in Guizhou and other provinces.
近年来,通过狠抓团队建设和公司产品过程管理,学校研究生教育质量稳步提升,取得显著成绩。先后多次荣获省级研究生教育成果奖,连续3年在教育部硕士学位论文抽检中全部合格,在贵州省属高校中名列前茅。研究生课外生活丰富多彩,以“科研+服务”为特色的研究生社会实践模式收获较大反响,研究生参与“挑战杯”等学术科技竞赛活动中多次获省级以上奖励,并连续2次在贵州省“硕博论坛”上取得医学组最好成绩。同时,研究生思想政治教育成效显著,其中2013级研究生宋忠敏组织同学义务支教的事迹被中央电视台等媒体作专题报道。多年来,研究生一次性就业率始终保持在90%以上,毕业研究生的应届考博录取率年均达到10%以上。

Over recent years, the Graduate School has made steady improvements and scored remarkable achievements in graduate education, as a result of its great endeavors in disciplinary development and educating process. On top of being honored with multiple provincial Teaching Achievement Awards for Graduate Education, it has seen qualification of all the master theses submitted for sample review by the Ministry of Education, ranking high among the universities in Guizhou. Master students enjoy a variety of vibrant extracurricular activities, say, the social practices characterized by “scientific research + services” of the master students have exercised wide-ranging impact; the master students have repeatedly won provincial prizes or above in such academic or scientific competitions as “Challenge Cup”; they have also done the best performance twice in a row in Guizhou “Doctor & Master Forum”. Political and ideological education for master students proves to be markedly effective. Volunteer Teaching, for instance, organized by master candidate Song Zhongmin of grade 2013 was featured by CCTV and other media. The employment rate of the master graduates right after their graduation remains above 90%, moreover, 10% of the master graduates are recruited as doctoral students every year.
